History
The Chief Executive Officer, Chairman, and Founder of the league is Richard Myles, Sr., a native Washingtonian and former player at Arizona State University. Myles previously played professionally as a member of the New England Patriots.
The Minor Football League was created in 1993.
The MFL was established to provide a platform for athletic participation, training and skills development outside of the college and professional sports arena.
The league first began with the creation of the Washington Chiefs franchise. The MFL was established to provide a platform for athletic participation, training and skills development outside of the college and the professional sports arena. Recognizing the importance of community and partnership, the organization requires each MFL member and team to be involved in the community where it is based. The MFL is global with franchises in 16 states in America and 16 countries in Africa. The league is split into two conferences with four divisions in each conference. The MFL has its own sports network “The MFL Experience” and “Inside the MFL” which includes television and radio programming on DKN Sports and DC Radio.
The MFL is known as “the laboratory of change” and provides “integrity, commitment, and excellence in all we do.”

The Minor Football League (MFL) has been in existence since 1993 and has continued to grow since inception to now hold 16 franchise teams in America and 16 franchise teams in Africa. The league’s franchises are split into four different divisions. Two divisions in each conference. Each division contains eight franchises.

MFL Dancers
Each MFL franchise has an accompanying dance team. Dancers perform on the sidelines during the game and at the half. All dancers are also required to attend MFL community events as assigned.
MFL Dance Team Requirements
All MFL dancers sign a 1-year contract and agree to a standard non drug use policy. MFL dancers are assigned to a dance team after league tryouts. Each MFL dance team is comprised of 30 dancers. To tryout for an MFL dance team, dancers must be 18 years of age and over and have prior dancing experience.
